Lucy

Lucy – Content Summary

  1. Lucy has a friend involved in criminal machinations.
  2. He asks her to deliver a suitcase as a messenger.
  3. In the process, she is given a pack of drugs in the abdomen.
  4. As a drug trafficker, she should smuggle this to Europe.
  5. Even before it starts, it is kicked by a keeper in the belly and the package bursts and the substance reaches into her body.
  6. The novel substance CHP4 contained therein results in an explosive cell growth when taken.
  7. This overdose leads to a growth of brain cells in Lucy. It is able to free itself in the short term.
  8. Lucy can control her body, has telepathic and telekinetic abilities.
  9. Your survival depends on the current intake of CHP4. She gets the packages from the other drug traffickers.
  10. This is no problem for Lucy, who can use her brain up to 40%.
  11. In the end, she meets Prof Samuel Norman, an expert on immortality.
  12. At the end of her human life, she mutates into a supercomputer.
  13. As such, she reports via mobile phone and says “I am everywhere”.

Before 1Mrd. We have been given life for years! What did we make of it?

Prof. Samuel Norman lectures in a lecture hall and asks the rhetorical question about the meaning of life: “For primitive beings like us humans it means winning time. Either one becomes immortal or one multiplies. This applies to every cell and also to man “. The professor deals with the topic of the efficiency of our brain and says: “people only use 10% and dolphins 20% of their brains”. A student would like to know what happens if a person can use 100% of their brain resources. The professor does not know this and here the action line begins with Lucy.

Consciousness is still a phenomenon and difficult to understand. However, there are two collateral:

  1. I know of myself as a thinking being.
  2. I know I’ll die.

The film is precisely about these two expressions.

We see Lucy as a cheerful young woman when she comes from work, is tired and want to be home but is stopped by her boyfriend. An everyday situation that we experience in a similar way. We assume that the life stream continues as usual. In the vast majority of cases this is the case. Sometimes something comes in between. You meet an acquaintance and go to the cafe, it gets late, rises in the hustle and bustle of the wrong train, is in another city, there is no train back and must stay in a hotel. Suddenly you are in a completely unexpected situation. Nevertheless, one can still think and is aware of the situation. This is Lucy, but can not explain what is. She does not know that she is scheduled to be a drug trafficker and has been given drug packs. To understand it, she needs more information and more thought. This is exactly what their limitations are.

Lucy now has the drug pack in his abode and waits in a container for her flight. Exactly in this situation she is sexually harassed, defends herself against it and gets kicks in the belly. The drug pack with the CHP4 content bursts and she experiences an intense drug noise. The substance leads to cell growth in the neuronal structure. Lucy has thus a brain achievement of 20% and thus turn the own body under complete control. She then also makes short work with the guard.

Depending on whether there is room for further neurons in the head, a cellgenesis would be a possibility to improve the computing power. The number of neurons, however, is not alone. Rather, it is the axons to which dendrites attach and thus form the computer architecture. The degree of networking in the brain is a result of learning. The more varied the environment (in childhood) and the more challenging problems (as an adult), the denser the network and the higher the IQ. The problem, learning and problem solving to be used as “enhancers”, is its duration. Have we all felt painfully that repetitions need time. Therefore, it would be nice if it were as in the film, by taking a substance. Substances are complex and therefore have side effects.

For Lucy to be able to live on at all, she is dependent on the ongoing intake of CHP4. It worries them, without any scruples, from the other drug traffickers. The addition of additional substance increases brain performance and gets control over their environment. This includes telekinesis, telepathy and prediction. A further increase changes her sense systems and Lucy can suddenly see electromagnetic waves in the mobile radio area.

Lucy

These skills are not so extraordinary. Using digital – technological artefacts is already possible today. Telepathy via smartphones, telekinesis with robots and prediction with Big Data Analytics are state of the art. The extension of the sense systems has not yet succeeded. However, if sonar, radar and violin counter counts, at least a transformation is possible. Direct neuronal experiences of extraneous physical quantities are not yet known. This is, however, an unconditional prerequisite for higher consciousness – that is, to think of more than four dimensions.

With the last “shot” Lucy takes so much drugs that she starts to dissolve herself. It occupies all digital systems around itself and develops a supercomputer. In these, she saves all new knowledge, compresses the data to a USB stick and transfers it to Prof. Norman. After that, Lucy disappeared. On a mobile phone she briefly reports, “I am now everywhere”. Lucy has thus reached eternal life (immortality) in a material host.

Death is the only truly serious thing to take in life. All world religions have assigned the highest importance to a life after death. The promises of salvation give the believer the guarantee of an eternal life. How and where this will be depends on the respective tradition. Occidental Book religions know the Beyond and the Asian philosophies an end to reincarnations. Both cultures demand sacrifices from their believers on the other side. Some of them are very pragmatic and ensure a prosperous life together. Others, on the other hand, were socially necessary at the time of the founding of the respective religion, and are now curious and obsolete. No matter how, eternal life is assured.

With the emergence of empirical natural sciences, life was questioned after death. It is true that for several centuries, founded by Rene Descartes, the dualism of body and soul has been held. With the grand successes, the technology based on natural science, more and more people are turning to monism. All that man needs for his spiritual and physical life is contained in the physical matter. For consciousness, it needs a brain and nothing else. The better this works, the higher the consciousness. The spiritual life, the soul, is therefore bound to a body, and when this disappears, the soul is also dead. What then does it take for an eternal life?

Very simple – you need an eternal body. Right, there is no such thing. However, a body that is long-lasting compared to biological is already imaginable. It does not have to represent the entire biological extent, but only the brain. An artificial brain that can serve as a host for my natural. If a matter with longevity is used, we are nearer to eternal life. How could you imagine?

  1. Man, with his present mental faculties, is not able to do so
  2. Therefore, artificial intelligence is required – which is such a host
  3. With AI, we get information about energy and matter
  4. These two are essential for long-lasting artificial brain building blocks
  5. This makes it possible to build a host
  6. In these I can then upload my memory
  7. So I have a back-up at the same time and can download it again
  8. And / or replicate.

The film Lucy ends with:
