Steven Strange is highly intelligent. He has studied two disciplines at the same time and is an authority in neurosurgery. Unfortunately his arrogance has developed with his professional success. During an operation he hears music from a streaming service and discusses his genre with his assistants to show how confident he is. Another time, during a frantic car ride, he makes a remote diagnosis via the smartphone. These are all very egocentric behaviors. Dr. Steven Strange is paramount to the career-driven, self-complacent and narcissistic prototype of Western society. Until such time as he is suffering a bad accident during this car journey and his hands are permanently damaged. When he awakens from the operation, he immediately realizes what is happening and also accuses him of his opera: “You ruined me, I could have done better.” From one moment to the next, life has changed. To his friend Christin: “What is a life without work” and she: “Is still life”. Then they separate.

Ego-centering is a phenomenon of the Western world. It was triggered by the book religions, which all three knew an individual soul. Later with the development of the natural sciences, with René Descartes “I think – I am thus” the egocentric world image was manifested. In the nineteenth century, it was the American dream of being a millionaire or a steward from the Terminator. In the twentieth century books such as “Die ICH-AG” and also the “Strange Tales” from 1963, on which also the new film is based, were published. You can achieve it, you just have to want it. This was taught to us in many seminars. Management has also been introduced through target agreements.

Human behavior changes suddenly and radically, just as with Dr. Strange through the accident. Change can also occur slowly through learning and life. This corresponds more to the Eastern philosophy, in which this process can go beyond many lives. “The way is the goal”, is a completely different way of life than ours. Dr. Strange arrives to Kathmandu, a Hindu environment, to the Order of Kamar Taj, where he seeks healing for his hands.

Dr. Strange

The Archbishop, “The Elder,” answers his demanding questions about healing: “I do not know how to make your hands healthy, but I know how to reorient your mind so that the body can heal better.” Ultimately, Strange accepts the offer and joins the Order. There is hardly anything else left for him, because the school medicine is in his case at the end. The Elder: “You are a man who sees the world through a keyhole and seeks to enlarge it by diligence and ambition.” As it is said, the world is only a small section (keyhole) of an all-encompassing, time and spaceless multiverse. There are infinitely many universes – good and evil. Strange must now get rid of all previous scientific convictions.

The main message of “Dr. Strange” was about releasing – release!

To do this, the elders said, “Draw your ego and the power will grow – learn and practice it for many years.” This is exactly what you see today in successful people. Those who focus less on their personal achievements, but instead take a path continuously and take their time for it, is more successful. What Dr. Strange must now learn, are thousands of years old wisdom from the Vedas:

  • Focus and visualize your goals
  • See your goals in the Spirit before you
  • Imagine every detail
  • Look beyond the world
  • The clearer the picture, the faster and easier the door opens

“Arrogance and fear prevent us from reaching something greater,” said the oldest. Of course, Strange was afraid of what is coming now, and he is still arrogant. For him, the battle with Kaecilius begins. This is a former but apostate member of the Order and has joined the dark power, embodied by the god “Dormammu”. The DUNKLE has prevailed in SciFi films – given by the StarWarrior. In the meantime, the astrophysicists are of the opinion that, in any case, the bulk of the universe consists of dark matter and is therefore not accessible to us. Our keyhole shows only the light. Strange has to deal with this different world and to get to know the laws of nature. He is confronted with astral body, time travel, telekinesis, antigravitation, mythical objects, and much more. Actually nothing new, but all concepts and ideas from the esoteric context.

It looks like Kaecilius wins the fight. The temple in London has already fallen and the one in Hong Kong is being destroyed. Strang uses the eye of Agamotto here. This is like a joystick with which he can manipulate the time. In the case of Hong Kong, he turns it back and the temple can be saved for the time being. However, the time is running again and the destruction begins anew. Strange must be able to get out of this loop somehow. For this he travels to the cause of all this evil, namely to God Dormammu. He is involved in an endless, repetitive time loop, which always begins with “I am there to negotiate with them”. Even with billions of passes, this did not take longer than a loop. The time is always reset. Today’s computers can also go through beta loops, but they need the multiple time. If the model of quantum calculators can be realized, these loops could be processed, similar to an agamotto. Everything at the same time. Dormammu finally gives up and still has “Dr.” Strange saved the world.

What did Dormammu want with the world? Sure, he wanted to free us from the time that does not exist in the dark. “Time is our enemy, kills everything and is a humiliation,” says Kaecilius. “Many become too few and one.” The latter is a reinterpretation of the Hindu fundamental message of “This Atman is Brahman” – souls and God are one.”

Ultimately, Strange becomes the oldest of the Order. Although he has experienced a lot, was close to death, has played with time and defeated a god, he is still arrogant. The outward sign of this is his still trembling hands and his broken wristwatch. ALSO: The determination of a person is as it is and can not be changed by lifelong practice and learning. We can adapt to the changing environment and fulfill our mission there.
